THE ORIGINAL VERSION OF "EXPERIMENT IN TERROR" — THE MUSIC USED ON CHILLER THEATER
Chiller Theater's theme music is Henry Mancini's "Experiment in Terror," composed for Blake Edwards' creepy 1962
thriller starring Glenn Ford, Lee Remick and Ross Martin ("Artemus Gordon" on TV's Wild Wild West) as a psycho stalker!
The soundtrack, originally released on an LP album and now available on CD, includes several versions of the spooky title tune.
Mancini's main theme has been used on other TV horror showcases
(notably Chicago's Creature Features),
and has been covered by guitar bands and other groups many times since then.

The version of Mancini's "Experiment in Terror" used as Chiller Theater theme music is a raunchy, twangy guitar and saxophone arrangement performed by guitarist Al Caiola.
It has been released on a "greatest hits" compilation CD called
Al Caiola: Bonanza! 1960-69 (Raven Records, Australia).
